Everyone who has a shop on Etsy was very excited yesterday because we had the opportunity to change the name of our shop. This was a once in a lifetime deal! When I first signed up for Etsy, I did not realize that my user name was irreversible. I had selected "Loves Paris" because I do. We visited Paris in 2005, the beautiful memories still linger fresh in my mind. Unfortunately, most people only associate "loves Paris" with the city itself, or Paris Hilton. But, it was my shop name, so I decided that I had no choice but to embrace it.
I always added the word, studio, to the end, to help people realize that I was an artist. Well, now my Etsy shop is formally called, Loves Paris Studio, and I am very happy about that! To celebrate the name change I am offering a beautiful series of Photo ACEOs of some of my favorite Paris photographs.
If you are not familiar with ACEOs they are a type of "artist trading card." The price varies anywhere from .01 cents on ebay to thousands of dollars! The cards are suppose to be original works of art or prints/photos of an artist's original work.Photographs fall into this category if they were,indeed, originally photos by the artist.
All of my Photo ACEOs are small replicas of my own original photographs. I sign and date the back. The only other requirement for an ACEO is that it measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches, the same size as your typical sports trading card.
Eventually, I will offer all my photographs as ACEOs. But for now, I am starting with the city I love, Paris, France! In today's blog you will find my first two photo ACEOs. The Eiffel Tower, at night, and Rodin's The Kiss Sculpture. These seem the most appropriate with Paris being the city of light and love!
ACEOs are an affordable way to begin any art collection. There are stands and books available for displaying your favorites!

ACEO's are collectible pieces of art that measure 2.5 x 3.5. inches ( 6.4 x 8.9 cms) This is the size of a standard sports trading card. These are fine art trading cards that may be collected or used for gift giving.
My ACEO's are printed on National Geographic Premium Photo Paper, Heavy Weight High Gloss Photo Paper with a special polymer coating that protects and preserves the prints for generations. They are mounted on acid-free and lignin free card stock and sealed in a complimentary acid and liqnin free protective clear sleeve.
I sign and date the back of the card and send it in a rigid chip board folder.
All sample photos are set at low resolution to help prevent infringement.

The tower was our beacon in the night, for we knew if we were close to it, we were close to our hotel. Being lost can be a wonderful thing, especially in Paris or Venice. In searching, you discover even more beautiful sights along the way.
